1. EXPLANATORY NOTE AND STRUCTURE OF DISCIPLINE

The program of the course “Medical Emergency” for students in higher education institutions (higher medical) Ukraine III -IV accreditation levels made for specialties “Dentistry” according to the qualification characteristics and educational and vocational training programs that are being introduced under the Law Ukraine “On Higher Education” from 17.01.2002, № 2984-111, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of 21.01.1998, № 65 “On stepwise formation” and from 07.08.1998, № 1247 “On state standards for higher education” the order of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine from 06.31.1998, № 285 “On the requirements of state standards,” the order of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine of 24.02.2000, № 35 “On peculiarities level education of medical and pharmaceutical focus.”
In developing the program of the course requirements included in the system of higher medical and pharmaceutical education, industry standards for higher education of Ukraine, Ministry of Health of Ukraine claims the orders of December 7, 2009 number 930, 931, 932, 933 on the approval and introduction of curriculum training educational qualification of “specialist” training “doctor” in universities IV level of accreditation in the field: “Medicine”.
The program of the course “Medical Emergency” is consistent with the Law of Ukraine “On legal grounds Medicine Emergency” (2004), “On protection of population and territories from emergency situations of technogenic and natural character” (2000), Order of MES of Ukraine on January 17, 2002 № 27 “On approval of the functional subsystem” Education and Science of Ukraine »United State of preventing and responding to emergency situations of technogenic and natural character” and other laws and regulations governing the amount and training of students and population of Ukraine to act under threats and emergencies.
Academic discipline “Medical Emergency” is studied by students of the second year of study and is based on knowledge of basic natural science disciplines: medical biology, human anatomy, physiology, basic hygiene, ecology, Pathology and pathophysiology and is integrated with corresponding applications. In turn, knowledge of medicine and health care worker safety work lays the foundation for future successful learning student clinical and hygienic disciplines provides the integration of these disciplines. Learning discipline “Emergency Medicine” provides a basic knowledge of the correct and precise actions in complex medical case of an emergency.


Academic discipline “Medical Emergency” is represented by the module.
The main lessons of discipline “Medical Emergency” according to the curriculum is practical classes and self-study students.

The purpose of the study of the course (final destination) and the structure of the discipline.
The purpose of the study disaster medicine – the ultimate goals are based on  preparation doctor by profession according to the block of content modules and is the basis for building the content of the course. Description objectives formulated through skills as targets (actions). Based on the ultimate goals to content modules defined specific goals as specific skills (actions) targets that achieve the ultimate goal of the discipline.


The ultimate goals of the discipline:
• Learn the principles and sequence of premedical aid assistance in emergency situations of war and peace;
• Be able to sort the victims with medical mass destruction.

The educational process is carried out by the credit system in accordance with the Bologna process.


Discipline program is structured into modules, which include blocks of content modules. The student workload described in credits ECTS – offset credits that are transferred to students upon successful assimilation of the relevant module (test credit).

Discipline is structured on module 1:

Module 1. Principles and continuity of premedical aid.
Specific objectives:
• learn basic principles of pre-medical  assistance;
• acquire knowledge about classification and methods of stopping bleeding;
classify injuries of the musculoskeletal system.
Thermal damage. First Aid
• acquire knowledge about acute poisoning detoxification methods;
• learn the skills of pre-medical help.

ECTS educational system encourages students systematically learn during the school semester.
The types of learning activities according to the curriculum are:

 a) workshops,

b) self-study students (CPC),

 c) individual self-study students.
Workshops on how their organizations are practical seminars for include:
1) Hold the practical part on phantoms.
2) situation tasks (personally each student is different).
We recommend students to write a short practical training task performance on the hospital stage.
Disaster Medicine Departments have the right to make changes to the curriculum based on organizational and technical capabilities, areas of research, but have to fulfill the requirements of the whole amount of discipline in accordance with the ultimate goals  and  specialty training and curriculum.
The acquisition threads controlled by workshops to meet your specific goals. It is recommended to use the following tools for diagnosing the level of students: computer tests, solving situational problems, laboratory research and evaluation and interpretation of the results, the control of practical skills.
Final control module is on their end. Assessment of student discipline is rating and exhibited by multi-scale as the arithmetic mean score of mastering the relevant modules and the system must determine ECTS and a traditional scale adopted in Ukraine.
For those students who want to improve the performance of subjects on a scale ECTS final control of the module is additionally scheduled in school during winter break or in the last 2 weeks of the school year.

2. Study goal and objectives discipline
“MEDICAL EMERGENCY”
