METHODICAL INRUCTION
TO PRACTICAL LESSONS FOR STUDENTS
LESSON N 1 (practical – 7 hours)
Theme: 1. Medical statistics and its value for the estimation of population’s health and activity of organs and establishments of health protection – 3 hours.
2. Organization of the randomized statistical research – the basis of evidential medicine – 4 hours.
Aim: 1. To capture the knowledge about the basic concepts of medical statistics, factors which influence on a health of population.
2. To master the maintenance of stages of statistical research, conditionality of their sequence and method of drafting of the programs and plan, the method of groupment and report of statistical material.
Professional motivation: In the activity of a doctor the ability of the independent conducting of research work and knowledge of bases of its organization is an inalienable element. Objective estimation of the phenomenon, that is studied, depends on the select rational groupment, which must unite heterogeneous signs with unit of supervision from basic directions of research. Wrong development of material is one of errors of statistical research that negatively influences on an eventual result at the calculation of indexes.

a) To define the indexes of health.
b) To select and group factors which predetermine the state of health of population.
c) On the example of indexes of health to define the unit of supervision, its registration signs and to draw them as a chart.

Organization of the statistical research.
а) from a set of registration and current medical documentation to take away a document which is used as a program of statistical supervision;
b) to formulate the purpose of statistical supervision;
c) to formulate the task of statistical supervision;
d) to form a selective statistical aggregate: method of selection, object, volume, kind, time and place of conducting of research;
e) to make the program of collection of material.

g) To fill the models of tables.
