Methodical Instructions to Lesson 8 for Students.
Subject: Drugs: Names, Classification and Major Characteristics. Vitamins.
The number of hours –6.
Objective: To enrich the vocabulary based on pharmacological terminology; to use active vocabulary in communication; to develop the students’ monologue and dialogue speech habits.
Professional orientation: The students learn texts to prepare for students’ scientific conference participation.
Students’ Practical Activity (9.00-12.00)
1. Training oral exercises to master new words and word-combinations.
2. Listening to the phonograms of the texts “Drugs: Names, Classification and Major Characteristics” and “Vitamins”.
3. Proper reading and translating the texts “Drugs: Names, Classification and Major Characteristics” and “Vitamins”.
4. Asking and answering questions on the texts “Drugs: Names, Classification and Major Characteristics” and “Vitamins”.
5. Dividing the texts “Drugs: Names, Classification and Major Characteristics” and “Vitamins” into logical parts.
6. Making dialogues on the relevant topics.
7. Preparing summary of the texts “Drugs: Names, Classification and Major Characteristics” and “Vitamins”.

The Student Participation Encouraging Aspect of the Lesson
v Performing mini-conference: the students are proposed to discuss new trends in treating various diseases by using drugs and supplements;
v game: the student is proposed to list the main properties of one of the vitamins, then he reads his notes and his classmates should guess what the name of vitamin is.
