Methodical Instructions to Lessons 2 for
Students.
Subject: Medical education in Ukraine, Great Britain, the USA. Nouns. The plural form of nouns. Word-building elements of Greek-Latin
origin.
The number of hours – 6.
Objective: To enrich the vocabulary based on medical terminology of Greek-Latin
origin; to use active vocabulary in
communication; to practise grammar skills
using the plural form of nouns; to build new
words with the help of affixes of Greek-Latin origin.
Professional orientation: the students will learn the comparison methods of common and
different peculiarities in medical education of Ukraine, the United Kingdom and the USA.

Forming and using properly the plural
form of nouns.

Listening to
the phonograms of the texts “Medical education in Ukraine and Great Britain”, “Training for Medical

Asking and answering questions on the
texts “Skeletal System” and “Muscular System”.

Dividing the
texts into logical parts.

While mastering the grammar structures students should pay attention to:
1. differentiating thematic and anatomical lexical groups;
2. understanding and rendering the contents of the texts containing grammar
material in the native language or English;
3. forming
and using properly the plural form of nouns.

1.
The application of the multimedia system MOODLE for everyday knowledge assessment.
The
Student participation encouraging aspect of the lesson
v the students are asked to play “Chain Game”. The student is
proposed to say any word form the new vocabulary with its translation. Another student repeats the word and adds his own, the next student
repeats the previous two and adds his own etc. The student with the
longest word chain wins.
v The students are proposed to make their own
discussion where they compare three educational systems, expressing their
ideas, advantages and disadvantages. The communicative approach is taken into consideration here.
