Methodical Instructions to Lessons 6 for Students.
Subject: In-patient Department. First Aid. At a Chemist’s. Continuous Tenses: Active and Passive Voice.
The number of hours – 6.
Objective: 1. To enrich the vocabulary based on medical terminology; to use active vocabulary in communication; to develop the students’ reading translating and speech habits.
2. Practise grammar skills using Continuous tenses.
Professional orientation: The students resume medical texts to prepare for students’ scientific conference participation.
Students’ Practical Activity (9.00-12.00)
1. Doing oral exercises to master new words and word-combinations.
2. Listening to the phonograms of the texts “At the Hospital” and “At a Chemist’s”.
3. Reading and translation of the texts “At the Hospital” and “At a Chemist’s”.
4. Asking and answering questions on the texts “At the Hospital” and “At a Chemist’s”.
1. Dividing the texts into logical parts.
2. Making dialogues on the relevant topics.
3. Preparing short summaries of the texts “At the Hospital” and “At a Chemist’s”.
Methodical Instructions for Practical Activity
While mastering the grammar structures students should pay attention to:
1. determining Latin medical terms in different language groups;
2. differentiating complex grammar phenomena according the formal characteristics;
3. filling in the patient’s case history using the active vocabulary.

11. to know the medication forms and the requirements to their preservation;

The application of the multimedia system MOODLE for everyday knowledge assessment.
The Student participation encouraging aspect of the lesson
v The students are proposed to play a game. The teacher throws a small ball at a student asking a new word. The student replies and throws a ball at another student etc.
v The students are demonstrated the first video part form Headway Pre-Inrtermediate English Course. They have visual facilities to understand how greetings and introduction have to be made.
